The IVAO Slovenia (“the Division”) is partaking in the Guest Controller Approval (“GCA”). Policy which is stated in the IVAO Rules and Regulations as follows;
Divisions may require members of foreign divisions to obtain a Guest Controller Approval before providing ATC services. Divisions shall announce their participation and publish their requirements on the division’s web site.
— IVAO R & Regulations, Para 5.1.7
All Air Traffic Control (“ATC”) positions are subject to Facility Rating Assignments (“FRAs”) which are regulated and enforced by the ATC Operations Department and require the holder of a GCA to meet these standards:
- rating of Aerodrome Controller (“ADC”) or greater,
- knowledge of the local SOP,
- ability to communicate either in English or/and Slovenian language (text and voice),
- to have a clean suspension history (for at least one year).
Fullfilment of requirements does not immediately mean that permission for providing ATC services will be granted. A candidate will still need to proceed with a local training before the GCA will be given. Note that there are some limitations of how much training can we provide at the time.
